The Trails

Views

  • Last week's old apple in the Old Gravel Pit was shedding its white petals in earnest.
  • Garlic mustard surrounding the tree was also in bloom with white flowers.
  • The result under the tree was a little too much like snow.
  • Farther along the path, a stand of ferns, seen through the camera, looked like a miniature forest viewed from the air.
  • In the Fern Glen, clintonia was in bloom.
  • Common alum root looked a lot like the miterwort, already in bloom for some time.
  • In the geranium family, herb robert was out in many places.
  • One of my spring time favorites, columbine was starting.
  • Baneberry was in bloom, too.
  • The occasional sprinkles now turned into honest rain and I was half pleased that I had half my rain gear on.
